Description

A Park Exclusive | Extends your cuke season

Days to Maturity: 60 from direct sow

Sir Crunch a Lot is more than just a fabulous name—it's a season-extender that you'll treasure in those dog days of late summer, when all the other varieties have stopped bearing. And while it's the ultimate in crunch (as you'd expect from its name), Sir Crunch a Lot is also rich and free of bitter taste, with a small seed cavity and extra-long fruit size. Can't beat it with a stick.

These glossy dark green cukes reach 8 to 10 inches long, borne on compact and open-habit plants that make harvesting easy and spine-free. They look as good as they taste, and you'll always get big yields on these plants, thanks to their resistance to cucumber mosaic virus, leaf spot, and blight/target spot. If you've ever had trouble growing cucumber plants before, Sir Crunch a Lot is the one to try for surefire success.

Direct sow seeds in a sunny spot after all danger of frost is past, or start indoors and transplant when the first true leaf appears. Cucumbers can be allowed to grow on the ground, but for longer, straighter fruit and to save garden space, grow them in a cage or on a trellis, allowing 1 foot between plants. Keep them well-watered, and keep the fruits picked promptly.

Great cucs, definitely crunchy

This shopper rated the product 4 out of 5 stars

These are very good cucs. Prolific, fast growing, and don't seem too bothered by pests here in Western North Carolina. Pretty much a perfect size. I would grow again, though for fresh eating I like a jucier cuc. These make a great quick pickle.

Best cucumber I've grown

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I usually grow Sweet Slice, but last summer I tried Diva and Sir Crunch-a-lot, too. Sweet Slice is always dependable, but Sir Crunch-a-lot was just a notch above. It produced generously, grew well, and the taste was sweeter and it was easier to digest than any other cucumber I've come across. Sir Crunch-a-lot is now a regular in my garden and will be for the foreseeable future.

Still the best

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

This the second review on Sir Crunch Alot (update). These are growing wonderful this year, just as years before. Delicious sweet taste, tiny seed and seed cavity, I cannot say enough about this variety. Been growing them for 5 years now! Thanks.

Sir Crunch a Lot cucumbers

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

These cucumbers are far superior to any other variety I've ever grown. For the past 3 years they're the only ones I bother with. If you've run out of ideas for using up all the cukes you get, make cold cucumber soup--it's delicious.

A staple in my garden

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I've been planting Sir Crunch a Lots for at least the last four years. I've planted many other kinds along with them, but no other cuke I've tried can compare crunchiness and sweetness of Sir Crunch a Lots. I can't say enough about them. They're a keeper, that's for sure.
