Description

Good frost tolerance on big, heavy heads

Days to Maturity: 55 from transplant

A customer favorite that never lets you down, this fast-finishing variety sets large, flat-topped heads 7 to 8 inches in diameter and weighing 1 to 2 pounds. Vigorous and robust, this plant is a reliable performer even in hot summer weather, and appreciates a touch of frost as well. For versatility and dependability, you can't go wrong with Snow Crown Hybrid.

One of the best features of this cauliflower is that it holds well in the garden at maturity. Harvest it up to 10 days past its maturity date with no loss of flavor or appearance. You'll appreciate this flexibility as the season progresses.

Cauliflower is a cool-season crop suitable for spring and fall cultivation. For spring, sow seeds indoors 5 to 7 weeks before setting out as soon as the soil is workable. For fall, begin seeds in late summer. Germinate at 70 degrees Fahrenheit or above, then grow on at 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Transplant the seedlings when young—no more than 4 weeks old is optimal—and set them 18 inches apart in rows 2 to 3 feet apart.
