Put some sparkle in your garden and brighten all surrounding plants with the luscious white-to-cream double blooms of this evergreen Azalea! A lovely shrub for sun to partial shade, this heavy bloomer complements all surrounding colors and offers a bright presence in the border or woodland garden.

Snow Pearl is an award-winning German introduction, known for its large clusters of fully double white blooms. These continue for weeks in late spring, filling the garden with gleaming color. The foliage is handsome as well: olive-green, bright, and very dense, it makes a fine backdrop to the flowers, and stands alone after flowering to offer good coverage right up to hard frost.

Expect Snow Pearl to reach 18-20 inches high and 30-32" wide in rich, acidic, well-drained soil. Very low maintenance, all it asks is that its roots, which are very shallow, remain undisturbed after planting. If you like, raise the planting site a few inches to improve soil drainage, and offer a nice heavy mulch to keep the soil temperature from fluctuating too much. Other than that, Snow Pearl will grow and bloom happily without interference from you for many years! Prune, if necessary, right after it flowers -- but this shrub is naturally well-shaped and probably will not need any shaping!

So lovely and profuse are Snow Pearl's blooms that it has been awarded the Royal Horticulture Society's Award of Garden Merit in 2013. You will love these frilly, petal-packed blooms, whether you use this shrub in the border, the rock garden, the woodland area, or among Mountain Laurels and even Roses in the garden. Enjoy this beautiful shrub for countless seasons to come! Zones 6-9.
