Description

Great heat and mildew resistance

Days to Maturity: 40

At last, a three-season spinach! Space Hybrid finishes in 40 days or even less, giving you time to grow an entire second crop in late spring. And with the great heat resistance of this hybrid, you can keep going even after the temperatures heat up.

The leaves are dark green, smooth, and rounded, held upright on super-vigorous plants. With a tangy, crisp flavor only possible in home-grown fresh spinach, Space Hybrid is sure to become a favorite.

The plants grow very quickly, helped by resistance to mildew and great hybrid vigor. Trouble-free and so quick to harvest, they are among the easiest spinaches you will ever grow!

Great for spring and fall crops, spinach is a cool-season vegetable. Plant in early spring as soon as the soil is workable, or sow in late summer for a fall crop that will winter over in mild areas and produce new leaves again in spring.

Overwintered in MN

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

Believe it or not, some of this spinach that was planted last Fall was able to survive the zone 4 Winter and kept growing the following Spring. Flavor was still great and I was able to get a super early harvest because of this. Great germination rates too --I planted some more this year!

Spinach in August!

This shopper rated the product 4 out of 5 stars

Let's start off by establishing that Space Hybrid Spinach doesn't have the greatest spinach taste. And that it is somewhat tough and leathery compared to the many other varieties that I have tried as replacements for my favorite Melody Spinach (no longer available). But this year I was picking spinach well into August from these plants! This variety is incredibly bolt-resistant. I'll plant it again next year so I can have fresh spinach for salads long after my current favorite Palco (great taste and texture) has bolted.
