Sun Flare embodies all the best qualities of floribunda roses. It offers loads of 3- to 4-inch sunny lemon-yellow blooms continuously from early summer to late summer that open from attractive pointed, ovoid buds. The low-growing, compact, bushy, disease-resistant plant has a spreading habit, reaching a mature size of about 2 to 4 feet high and 3 feet wide. And it boasts a delightful licorice-like scent!

This heat- and cold-tolerant rose delights makes a great complement to lavender roses or perennials. Its garden performance and manageable size make it ideal for everything from beds and borders to low hedges and patio containers. And naturally, you will want one in your cut garden, so you can snip a few ready-made bouquets to brighten your home or office! It's no wonder Sun Flare won All-America Rose Selection in 1983!

Spring pruning is recommended. Old and dead wood should be removed and canes that cross need to be cut back. Gardeners in warmer climates should cut back the remaining canes by about one-third, while those in colder areas will probably want to prune a little more than that. This rose will require winter protection if the wind chill factor drops below 20 F/ - 7 C. Sun Flare makes a lovely addition to both gardens and containers, but container plantings will need winter protection.
