Description

Superior germination and good fill on tender cobs

Days to Maturity: 77 direct sow

All-America Selections (AAS) Winner 2018

A bicolor super sweet with superior germination, earlier harvest, and a tender bite, this corn is the absolute finest for home gardens. It offers good tip fill on delectable cobs.

American Dream is a vigorous plant reaching 6 to 7 feet tall. It bears generously, bringing you big harvests days earlier than most others.

Super sweet corn is specially bred to contain twice the sugar of regular sweet corn, and these hybrids retain their flavor and tenderness up to 2 weeks longer than regular sweets. They require warm soil for good germination, and must be isolated from other corn varieties by 200 feet or at least 2 weeks' planting time.

Sow after last spring frost, when the soil is warm. Corn is famously easy to direct-sow in any sunny spot. To extend your corn harvest, make successive plantings weekly up to mid-July, or plant varieties with differing maturity dates.

Made a nice crop for me

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I put in three plots in 2018. I was very satisfied with the germination rate, which was better than 95% for all plots. I didn't spray it, so there were some worms, but hey. It cropped over two weeks, when the next plot was ready, and actually, we kept eating, freezing, and sharing for another week to ten days. Even when large, it remained sweet and relatively tender. We we're still eating American Dream into October. I will be growing it again.
