Preserve the tomato crop with these canning varieties, just right for drying, freezing, and saucing!
Roma (also called saladette or paste) tomatoes are grown for quick harvest and use in the kitchen, usually for storage or sauces rather than fresh eating. Mid-size varieties often grown in huge clusters, these are the "vine ripened" types sold in supermarkets. They are excellent in all cuisines, and often arise on determinate plants that set their harvest quickly, over just a few weeks, to simplify the harvest and canning process.
