White Lion Shasta Daisy is a perennial offering early spring to late summer interest. Long and heavy blooming, this plant sets daisies with white rays surrounding a golden yellow center. Borne singly on stiff stems, the flowers make excellent, long-lasting cuts and attract tons of butterflies to the garden.
White Lion Shasta Daisy has a compact, uniform habit forming a lush, mounded, upright basal rosette of foliage. Shasta daisies are classic cottage and cutting garden plants and a mainstay in the perennial border.
Extremely easy to grow, Shasta daisies prefer full sun, but partial shade is tolerated, especially in climates with hot, dry summers. The soil should be dry to medium moist, well drained, and moderately fertile. Soil that is too rich will result in heavier vegetation than flowers. The plants are virtually disease free and deer, rabbit, dry soil, and drought tolerant. Although Shasta daisies are low maintenance and robust, deadheading spent flowers promotes a heavier bloom and dividing clumps every 2 to 3 years helps maintain vigor.
