Plant Zantedeschia albomaculata Calla Lily in spring, and in midsummer to early fall, it puts on a spectacular display of huge, ivory white flowers, with a yellow spadix at their center, borne on tall, elegant stalks sheathed in broad, wavy mid-green leaves heavily speckled with white spots. Highly popular in the floral industry, the chalice-like flowers are long-lasting and make superb cuts for bouquets and arrangements.
Zantedeschia albomaculata Calla Lily is a tender rhizomatous perennial, often grown as an annual. It has an upright habit, and although it makes a gorgeous specimen plant, it is shown to best effect when massed or grouped in beds, borders, and bog gardens or around ponds and streams. Calla lily grows equally well in garden or container, outdoors or indoors.
Easy to grow and virtually trouble free, this calla lily grows best in sunny to partly shady locations, with best flowering in full sun. In hot summer climates, provide full morning sun and some afternoon shade. A marginal aquatic plant, it prefers organically rich, moisture-retentive soil, but tolerates a wide range of soils, including wet, clay, and loam. The plant benefits from regular watering and feeding with a liquid fertilizer high in potash. Deer and rabbit resistant.
