Cultivar name: 'Minspot.'

Surround yourself with the soft colors of an exotic sunset. This lovely, trouble-free Rose of Sharon is as beautiful as its name suggests, bursting forth in midsummer with pink, semi-double flowers. The buds are medium pink but fade to a softer hue once open, while a deep reddish-purple center adds dramatic highlights. The medium to dark green foliage acts as a lovely backdrop to the stunning flowers. With an upright, spreading, very dense habit that reaches 5 to 8 feet high and 4 to 7 feet wide, it will create an absolutely unforgettable hedge, screen, or back-of-the-border standout.

Hibiscus are well-loved for their superb landscape performance and ability to draw in butterflies and beneficial bees. Their unmistakeable blooms bring to mind clear, gentle waters and warm breezes, and their beauty has not gone unnoticed around the world. Tahitian woman traditionally wear a red hibiscus tucked behind her ear to indicate her availability for marriage, and Hibiscus syriacus is the national flower of South Korea, while Hibiscus rosa sinensis is the national flower of Malaysia. Zones 5-8.

Easy Care, Beautiful Blooms
Diane from Houston from TX wrote on April 07, 2016

I bought this last spring but left in the pot while creating a new planting area and it bloomed into early Nov. then went dormant during the winter. Transpanted into new bed in Jan. and seem to take a while before green leaves appeared (April) but is greening up nicely and I expect to see flowers soon. Very pleased with this plant, it's beautiful and trouble free.
