Pure Perfume™ Shrub Rose

Pure Perfume™ Shrub Rose

So Fragrant! So Free-flowering!

Plant Patent 16,864. Cultivar name: 'JACfabco'

With up to 100 petals per bloom and a distinctively tart, citrusy scent, these shimmering, pure white blossoms are ideal for a hedge. The cupped blooms feature a strong grapefruit fragrance, and they come on in several flushes throughout the season. Deadhead to encourage reblooming.

Each 3- to 4-inch bloom opens from an attractive pointed, ovoid bud to reveal the bright white petals. And the plant itself is a garden joy, even when not adorned with the flowers, growing to a mature size of 4 to 5 feet high and 2 to 3 feet wide. The glossy, dark green foliage is a wonderful backdrop to the pure white blooms. This is one rose you will want to grace your garden, whether you use it in a hedge, allow its beauty to dress up a favorite bed, or plant it in a place of honor in the landscape as a gorgeous specimen!

Plant in moist, well-drained soil in full sun. Prune in spring, removing old canes and dead or damaged wood and cutting back canes that cross each other. In warmer climates, the remaining canes can be cut back by one third. You'll probably have to prune a bit more in colder climates. Zones 6-9.
