Description

The earliest and most floriferous single-flowering marigold

A great improvement over all previous single-flowered varieties, Disco is a riot of bright color on compact, well-branched, early-blooming plants. The 2-inch blooms dazzle in festive shades of yellow, orange, and red (including bicolors), and they arise in tremendous numbers on these compact yet well-branched plants. Both the first to bloom and the most floriferous in our trials, Disco is a showstopper.

All very uniform in habit and bloom time, these colors are dazzling alone or in a mixed planting. They're a great choice for beds, borders, and containers of all types, including window boxes. They keep their bright color over a long season, and their high bud count means that you'll enjoy many flushes of fresh bloom. Superb for edging, they are even effective in vegetable gardens, where they repel nematodes naturally. And where marigolds go, butterflies follow.

Sow direct in the garden when the soil has warmed, or start seeds indoors in late winter. Very easy to grow in full sun.

My Favorite Marigold

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I've grown this marigold for many years and save seed from one year to the next so I can pick the color I want. These are great for aphid control. No aphids on any plant within 7 feet of the marigolds. On the downside, grasshoppers love the leaves. It doesn't stop the flowers from blooming though.

The perfect marigold

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I first ordered Disco marigolds last year, Spring 2018. I started 30 indoors in peat cups with seed starting mix. Twenty-two sprouted and continued to grow well under plant lights. After last frost date I planted them outside in raised beds with potting soil, under tomatoes in regular garden soil, in window boxes with potting soil, and in prepared hay bales along with summer squash seeds hoping to deter Squash Vine Borer. All did very, very well. No Squash Vine Borers ate into the yellow and Zucchini squash. To help deter SVB further I placed yellow trays filled with water and a bit of liquid dish soap near them and wrapped the first 6 inches of stem in knee high panty hose) No bug problems at all on the Disco marigolds. No fungal problems either. That was a blessing as I live in a very fungus prone mountain/river area. I fertilized with Miracle Grow once a month. I was rewarded with abundant flowers on all colors mid June to first frost. AND the yellow continued to bloom until first hard freeze. I purchased another packet this year and will start all 50 seeds and those left over from last year. Here's looking forward to another year of beautiful Disco Marigold blooms.

Beautiful, but mine are orange

This shopper rated the product 3 out of 5 stars

These are beautiful, easy marigolds. I like that they aren't tall like many marigolds. However, I've got 10-15 plants going, and they aren't multi-colored as advertised, they are all orange. Not what I was hoping for, but they are nice anyway.

Outstanding in every way

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I planted these indoors six weeks ago, and began moving them outdoors last week. Several are already blooming, and while our California weather is benign it's still unusual for things to bloom in mid-March. I have literally gotten 100% germination with these, and the flowers are bright and very eye-catching, with amazingly pure colors. The plants are very sturdy and vigorous, and don't seem to require a lot of attention beyond the basics -- water and decent soil. I put them among my vegetable and berry plants for their protective qualities as well as their beauty. These seeds practically grow themselves -- very carefree. Park Seed once again has delivered an outstanding plant variety.

beautful and easy

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

This is a new favorite of mine. The color is vibrant, clear and captivating. They are holding up against the dreaded spider mites that have killed a lot of my marigolds and a lot of my garden. I will want these in my garden every year.
