Description

Even the foliage lasts longer on this spectacular rebloomer!

Lovely burgundy-rose tones!

Everyone loves Poppies, but their single, short season of bloom is always over far too quickly. That's why 'Harlem' is such a breakthrough! This is an Oriental Poppy that blooms in early summer, with all the other Poppies, then rests and reblooms late in the season! It's like getting two plants for the price of one -- and the second flush of blooms occurs at a time when much of the garden is passing, and bright color is needed most!

These huge, beautifully ruffled and upturned blooms are suffused with tones of burgundy-rose. Perfect for cutting, they also make a stunning sight in the sunny garden, radiating warm color. Try them alongside Oriental Poppy 'Royal Wedding' for an unusual and eye-catching combination of colors, or with another rebloomer, lavender-toned Manhattan!

This plant reaches 28 inches tall, with fresh green foliage that outlasts that of other Poppies. Deer and rabbits avoid this plant, and it's quite tolerant of poor soils (though it blooms best in rich, moist, well-drained soil, of course). Water it only during the driest part of the season. Zones 3-7.
