Semi-determinate

Honeybee earns its sweet name with every bite. This yellow cherry tomato ripens quickly and deliciously in huge clusters, each 1-inch-diameter fruit bursting with sugars and juice. We have found it to be irresistible straight from the vine, and there are no complaints about the yields—you will harvest giant trusses of this quick-and-easy tomato.

Very well-branched, this tomato is vigorous right out of the seed. Many cherry tomatoes have been bred with tough skins (to resist cracking in the hot sun), but Honeybee is succulent and mouthwatering, through and through. The plant is quite disease resistant, and the yields are huge. There's no downside to this beauty.

What, you may ask, does "semi-determinate" mean? Well, for Honeybee it means that the plant will reach about 4 to 5 feet tall (instead of growing up and up and up like some do) and that the fruit will set in large clusters all at once—but also that these clusters may repeat several times over a long season. Instead of getting a few ripe tomatoes every day, you'll get a giant ripe cluster once every few weeks, depending on how long your summer is, what the weather does, and how you feed and water the plant. Many gardeners love semi-determinate plants because they are the best of both worlds: a big harvest at once, plus a more restrained plant habit.

Start seeds indoors 5 to 6 weeks before the last frost date. Plant outdoors when danger of frost is past and night temperatures consistently remain above 55 degrees Fahrenheit. If an unexpected late frost is forecasted, protect young plants with plastic sheeting or other cover. Set plants 2½ feet apart, and cage or stake them to hold up all those yummy yellow cherries.

Honeybee Cherry Tomatoes - #52748

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

These plants far exceeded my expectations! Once they started producing, they never stopped. In fact, the only thing that outlasted them was the jalapeno pepper plants. The tomatoes were sweet and delicious, and I enough that I was able to share with others. I will definitely plant these again in 2020. I'm in Northeast Texas, zone 8.

Best tomato of the season

These were the first to produce in our garden. They were loaded with tomatoes that were absolutely delicious all summer long. They were still the best producers up to the night of our first frost.

I planted two seedlings, one per 10 gallon pot. At the peak of production I was probably picking over a pint a day for several days in a row. They are delicious raw but also make excellent sauce. Will grow them next season for sure.

I will grow these every year!

This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

I was gifted a pack of these seeds last year from a friend. I grew/planted 2 plants... just 2 plants. That was plenty! In zone 9a here, started in greenhouse last March, put in the ground the weekend of Mother's Day. Had a full, bountiful harvest of these little golden gems from mid/late July all the way until Thanksgiving! If the frost had not come to the Sierras, I am sure these would have kept producing! This is the most prolific cherry-type tomato I have ever grown, and I will grow them every year from here on out. My family loved them, I loved them, my friends all enjoyed them. Even the sungold variety is not as sweet as these!
