Famous for its wild color combinations, this is the brightest and liveliest Treasure Flower mix we know!
Certain to bring a smile to your face and a load of dazzling color to your garden from early summer till frost, Sunshine is exactly what its name suggests -- bright, carefree hot color! No two blooms are exactly alike, with color-saturated solids competing for attention with cabana-striped bicolors and free-for-all multicolors with as many as 5 distinctly different shades per bloom!
About all they have in common is their huge size -- 4 inches across, conservatively -- and their huge, cheery yellow centers, which may remind you of Sunflowers with their interesting rings of petaloids and fascinating color gradations.
These blooms begin in early summer on compact 10- to 12-inch plants and then, like the wild partygoers they are, just keep coming all summer and into fall, until the first hard frost forces them to depart.
And like all good guests, they don't ask much -- in this case, just lots of sun and well-drained soil of almost any type. The foliage is attractive, too (though who can pay any attention to it, under those wild blooms?), with silvery-gray highlights. What a show!
Sunshine Mix contains 5 base colors--cream, yellow, orange, pink, and red--with seemingly endless variation in stripes, rings, dots, and shadings! Start this fabulous annual indoors 4 to 6 weeks before last frost, or sow it direct as soon as the soil can be worked in spring. Pkt is 25 seeds.
Gazania serves most purposes: ground cover, edging, bedding, borders, planters, house plant, and it makes a cheerful hostess-gift. It’s a vigorous and floriferous annual. The 6-15 inch long flower stalks rise above the plant bearing single daisy-like flowers all summer long into winter if brought indoors. The 3-5 inch flowers are a range of loud colors with ray florets of yellow, gold, cream, orange, pink, or red with yellow disk florets. Flowers close for the night and under overcast skies. Plants reach 6-9 inches tall and the dark green leaves have white, felty undersides

Park Seed has been handling and packing vegetable and flower seeds for 145 years, a history that has given us a great understanding of how each variety should be cared for and maintained throughout every step of theprocess, from collection to shipping.
When packing our seeds, the majority are actually done by hand (with extreme care!), and we often over-pack them, so you're receiving more than the stated quantity.
The Park Seed Gold Standard
Heirloom Seeds are open-pollinated -- they are not hybrids. You can gather and save heirloom seed from year to year and they will grow true to type every year, so they can be passed down through generations. To be considered an heirloom, a variety would have to be at least from the 1940's and 3 generations old (many varieties are much older -- some 100 years or more!).
Hybrid seed are the product of cross-pollination between 2 different parent plants, resulting in a new plant/seed that is different from the parents. Unlike Heirloom seed, hybrid seed need to be re-purchased new every year (and not saved). They usually will not grow true to type if you save them, but will revert to one of the parents they were crossed with and most likely look/taste different in some way.
